Rural Lands Study

Council completed the Rural Lands Study for the former Palerang local government area in early 2017 with the adoption of the Rural Lands Strategy. The Study has developed a 20-year strategic direction (Rural Lands Strategy) for rural, rural residential and environmental land in the former local government area.

The Rural Lands Strategy is the principal output of the Study and is accompanied by a Report which contains data relating to rural land and its attributes. Both the Rural Lands Study Report and Strategy have been exhibited.

The Rural Lands Strategy links directly to the NSW government regional strategy and will allow Council to review development control guidelines, contributions plans and asset plans and to have a coordinated approach to future local environmental plan amendments in relation to rural areas in the former Palerang local government area.

The following documents have been prepared as part of the Study:

Rural Lands Strategy (adopted 22 February 2017)

Discussion Paper (accompanied the exhibted draft Rural Lands Strategy in 2016)

Rural Lands Study Report (exhibited in 2015)

Agricultural Report (accompanied the Rural Lands Report)

The Palerang Economic Profile forms part of the Rural Lands Study.
